I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving Day! We enjoyed a great meal and quality time with family and friends at our home yesterday. Pam and I, and the entire PD-go! Team, wish to thank you, our wonderful clients, for your business and your friendship over the years. We are very glad to know you and to do our small part to help your business or organization be the best and most profitable and effective that it can be. Again, thank you for your business.
We hope you are enjoying PD-go! Version 2. The recent group training session ‘webinars’ appeared to be a big success with over 50 people attending the two free web-based training sessions. We hope to do another session in the first quarter of 2010.
But we’re not done yet… we continue to add new features to PD-go! that you can use immediately, for example:
1. “5. Edit My Content Header” - Found in the “Website Manager” list of features, this brand new feature allows you to insert content (text/images/links, etc.) into an ‘editor’ box (same as the box you use to add content to your standard web pages) so that the content appears on all pages of your site. You can specify if the content renders above or below the ‘Page Title’ line as well. See how this works on www.pdgo.com … See today’s date in the top left, and the ‘SHARE’ tool found at the top right of all the web pages on the site? 2. “Enable Page Last Modified Timestamp” – Want to add a snippet of code to your site so that at the bottom, it says “This website last modified on November 27, 2009” ? Click to this page (http://www.pdgo.com/Code-Snip-Reference-Page.html ) to get the sample code snips for the automatic message you wish to use, then copy/paste the desired code snippet onto your footer page or the new content header page. See it in action here: http://irshores.com/ Please email support@pdgo.com if you need help on this. 3. You can now insert content into the area under your left hand navigation column. In your “Website Manager,” towards the bottom of the list, there is a new item: “7. Edit The Area Under My Left Navigation Bar.” When you click this link, a new editor appears. You can now enter content into it, and that content will display in the ‘Under Navigation Bar’ area on your site. Here are some examples of how this new feature is used: 1. The “Facebook” logo and link to the left column of www.pdgo.com 2. The ‘join our email list’ found on www.tampoprintusa.com 3. Several image links found on www.imf2009.com NOTE: Please be really careful with inserting wide images or links in this area, as if you insert something that is too wide, it can mess up the layout of your site. Also, if you need something extra cool in this location, we can create and embed animated flash items into this location. 4. We turned on a server-side program that compresses the data being sent from the server to the viewer’s computer, so now your standard web pages should load on the screen much faster. Our program shows 78 – 89% increase in display speed. WOW! The PD-go! system pages that you see should load faster too, increasing your productivity while making changes to your website. 5. We’ve added a bunch of Web 2.0 icons to the PD-go! system public image gallery, such as Facebook, Twitter and several others. Please feel free to add them to your site and link them to your social networking pages. Some clients are adding them into the left navigation column under the navigation items, like here: www.karengaskill.com and www.pdgo.com
Much more is coming soon! Now that version 2 is operational and most of the kinks are worked out, it’s easier for us to add new features to the system.
A couple of other brief thoughts/comments: 1. We now accept Discover Card for payments, in addition to VISA/MasterCard/AMEX. 2. We are still looking for folks who wish to become PD-go! Franchisees, and we offer cash referral fees to those who refer someone to us that becomes a new franchisee. 3. We are also looking for freelance (independent contractor) PD-go! sales agents – great for someone looking for work/income who has skills in sales and marketing and wants to offer PD-go! to their local chamber members and colleagues.
That’s all for now… Have a great day/weekend!
Take care, Steve Schwartz
